General Motors released the 2015 Z06’s official SAE-certified power numbers, and they’re monstrous: 650 hp at 6400 rpm and 650 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. The torque curve is meaty, too, with 457 lb-ft essentially available as the supercharged LT4 V8 lopes away at idle.
That potent engine, when paired with the new 8-speed paddle-shifted automatic, delivers a 0–60 time of 2.95 seconds. The quarter mile is vaporized in 10.95 seconds at 127 mph. That’s with the available Z07 package, which includes the max-downforce aero kit, Brembo carbon-ceramics, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. It also pulls 1.2 g on the skidbad. The previous best for any Vette was 1.13 g.
